If you’ll check your Rite Aid flyer, you’ll see there are several really good gift card deals this week. You can use these cards for your own shopping and have that discount already in your hand when you walk in the door, or you can give the gift card itself and you’ll have saved the money on the gift!
- IHOP and Applebee’s gift cards are buy $25, get $6 back at the register. That’s 24% savings!
- Hollister, Aeropostale, and American Eagle Outfitters are buy $50 get $10 back, for 20% savings. Absolutely I’m going to get some of those (Aeropostale) because I have a young relative who always finds what he likes at that store.
- Sears and Bass Pro Shops are buy $50, get $10 back, for 20% savings. I will tell you this is my BUY NOW price on Sears. Now! Online, the discounts rarely get over 8%, and Sears is one of our all-time always-shopping-there stores.
At Bi-Lo, and probably at Winn-Dixie, they usually run double fuel perks promotions around every holiday and heavy travel weekends. This weekend is Veteran’s Day, so any gift card you want to get, you will get double the regular fuel perks. That means, instead of getting 5 cents for a $50 gift card, you’ll get 5 cents for every $25 gift card. 5 cents is $1 off a tank of gas, so that’s the same as a 4% net savings. If there are any gift cards out there that never get below a 4% discount, now’s the time to buy them.
I remember last year, only for one or two days, they had a Triple Fuel Perks promotion. It was either Thanksgiving Day, or might have been Thanksgiving Day plus Black Friday. I remember I was there on Thanksgiving Day and grabbed them then. If you will be shopping Black Friday, get your gift cards the day before and get triple fuel perks, which is 6% net savings, which is better than online discounts in a lot of places.
